Overview

Smooth away rough, waxy skin growths

Seborrheic keratoses are benign skin growths that appear as raised, waxy, or rough patches, often described as looking “stuck on” to the skin. They range in colour from tan to dark brown or black and become increasingly common from middle age onwards. While completely harmless, they are often cosmetically unwanted, particularly when they appear on the face, neck, or visible areas of the body.

At Radiant Health Clinic, seborrheic keratoses are removed using electrocautery, which allows the practitioner to precisely destroy and remove the lesion tissue. The procedure is effective, well-tolerated, and leaves minimal scarring when the skin is properly cared for during healing.

Note: any lesion with atypical features, such as rapid change in appearance, irregular borders, or unusual colouring, should be assessed by a GP or dermatologist before aesthetic removal.

  • Effective removal of unsightly seborrheic keratoses
  • Multiple lesions treated in one session
  • Clinically safe technique by a trained practitioner
  • Minimal scarring with proper aftercare
  • Suitable for face and body
  • Quick procedure with minimal downtime

Common questions

Common questions

Are seborrheic keratoses dangerous?

No. Seborrheic keratoses are entirely benign. However, if you notice a lesion that has changed in size, shape, or colour, bleeds, or looks unusual, please see your GP before seeking aesthetic removal.

Is the treatment painful?

Local anaesthetic is applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. The procedure is generally well-tolerated.

Will it scar?

With proper aftercare, particularly avoiding picking the scab and applying SPF, the risk of scarring is low. Your practitioner will provide full aftercare guidance.

Can multiple keratoses be removed in one session?

Yes. Multiple lesions can be treated in a single appointment.
