Overview
An effective, long-lasting solution for excessive sweating
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterised by excessive sweating beyond what is needed for temperature regulation. It commonly affects the underarms, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet, and can significantly impact confidence, social interactions, and daily life.
Botulinum toxin (Botox) is a highly effective treatment for hyperhidrosis. Injected into the skin of the affected area, it temporarily blocks the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, dramatically reducing, and in many cases completely stopping, excessive sweating. Results typically last 4–12 months, with underarm treatment producing the longest-lasting results.
At Radiant Health Clinic, hyperhidrosis treatment is performed by Advanced Nurse Practitioners following a thorough consultation to assess your symptoms and confirm suitability.

Common questions
Common questions
How effective is Botox for hyperhidrosis?
Botulinum toxin is one of the most effective treatments available for hyperhidrosis, with studies showing it reduces sweating by up to 87% in the underarm area.
How long does it last?
Underarm results typically last 6–12 months. Hand and foot results last approximately 4–6 months as these areas have higher muscle activity.
Is it painful?
The underarms are generally well-tolerated without anaesthetic. Topical anaesthetic is applied to hands and feet before treatment, as these areas can be more sensitive.
Will it affect my normal sweating?
Treatment is targeted only at the specific area injected. Your body’s ability to regulate temperature through sweating elsewhere is not affected.
Do I need a GP referral?
No GP referral is required. However, if you suspect your sweating may be related to an underlying medical condition, we recommend discussing this with your GP before treatment.
