Overview
Precise removal of red skin spots
Cherry angiomas are small, benign vascular lesions that appear as bright red or purple spots on the skin. They are caused by an overgrowth of small blood vessels and become increasingly common with age. While entirely harmless, many people find them a cosmetic concern, particularly when they appear on visible areas of the face, chest, or arms.
At Radiant Health Clinic, cherry angiomas are removed using electrocautery, which uses a precisely controlled electrical current to cauterise and destroy the blood vessels within the lesion. The procedure is quick, effective, and well-tolerated, with minimal healing time.
- Effective removal of cherry angiomas in a single session
- Quick procedure, multiple lesions treated at once
- Minimal healing time
- Clinically safe technique performed by a trained practitioner
- Suitable for face and body

Assessment
The lesions are examined and confirmed as suitable for treatment. Any suspicious lesions will be referred for dermatological assessment before treatment.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and, where appropriate, a topical anaesthetic may be applied.
Electrocautery
A fine electrocautery probe is used to precisely target and destroy each cherry angioma.
Post-treatment
The treated area is soothed and aftercare instructions are provided.

Please tell us at consultation
Lesions that appear atypical, have changed in appearance, bleed spontaneously, or have any concerning features should be assessed by a dermatologist before aesthetic removal. Patients with pacemakers should inform their practitioner before electrocautery treatment. A full medical assessment is carried out at your consultation.

Common questions
Common questions
Are cherry angiomas dangerous?
No. Cherry angiomas are entirely benign and harmless. If you notice any lesion that has changed in size, shape, or colour, or bleeds spontaneously, you should seek a GP or dermatology assessment before any aesthetic treatment.
Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients tolerate the procedure very well. A brief sharp or warm sensation may be felt during electrocautery. Topical anaesthetic can be applied on request.
Will they come back?
Treated cherry angiomas are permanently removed. However, new ones can develop elsewhere as part of the natural ageing process.
How many can be treated in one session?
Multiple lesions can be treated in a single appointment, making it very time-efficient.
