Overview

An instantly flawless canvas

Dermaplaning is a safe, non-invasive exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the surface of the skin. The result is an instant improvement in skin smoothness, brightness, and texture.

Unlike other exfoliation methods, dermaplaning is suitable for almost all skin types, including sensitive skin, and requires no downtime. It is also an excellent treatment to combine with others, as removing the dead skin layer allows serums, peels, and other active treatments to penetrate more effectively.

At Radiant Health Clinic, dermaplaning is performed by trained practitioners using professional-grade techniques, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience with visible results from the very first session.

Your skin is assessed and the treatment plan is confirmed.

Cleanse

The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove all traces of makeup and impurities.

Using a sterile surgical scalpel held at a precise angle, the practitioner gently glides the blade across the skin in short, feathering strokes to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair.

05

SPF and aftercare

Broad-spectrum SPF is applied and aftercare advice is provided.

Your safety

Suitability & aftercare

A medical treatment, delivered to medical standards. Here’s who it suits, and how to care for your skin afterwards.

Is it right for you?

Adults looking to instantly improve skin texture, brightness, and smoothness. Particularly effective for those with dull, dry, or uneven skin, and suitable for sensitive skin types.

Please tell us at consultation

Dermaplaning isn’t suitable over active acne breakouts, rosacea flares, or open skin lesions, and isn’t recommended on sunburned skin. Hair will not grow back thicker or darker. This is a common misconception.

Caring for your results

Apply broad-spectrum SPF immediately after treatment and daily going forward
Avoid direct sun exposure for 24–48 hours
Avoid exfoliating products and active acids (AHAs/BHAs) for 5–7 days
Use gentle, hydrating skincare only for the first 24 hours
Avoid makeup for at least 6 hours after treatment if possible

No pressure, ever

Common questions

Common questions

Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?

No. This is a very common misconception. Vellus hair (peach fuzz) grows from a different follicle structure to terminal hair and will grow back at exactly the same texture and colour as before.

Is dermaplaning suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Dermaplaning is one of the most skin-friendly exfoliation methods available because it uses no chemicals or abrasive particles. It is well tolerated by sensitive skin types.

Can dermaplaning be combined with other treatments?

Yes, and this is one of its biggest advantages. Dermaplaning the skin first allows peels, serums, and other active treatments to penetrate more deeply, significantly enhancing their results. It pairs especially well with chemical peels.

Is there any downtime?

None. You can return to normal activities immediately. We recommend applying SPF before any sun exposure.

How often should I have dermaplaning?

Monthly treatments are ideal, aligned with your skin's natural cell turnover cycle of approximately 4 weeks.
