Overview
Relief from jaw clenching, grinding and TMJ pain
Bruxism is the habitual clenching or grinding of teeth, often during sleep, and can cause significant discomfort including jaw pain, headaches, tooth wear, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Left untreated, it can lead to long-term dental damage and chronic facial pain.
Botulinum toxin (Botox) injected into the masseter muscle, the large chewing muscle at the side of the jaw, temporarily relaxes the muscle, significantly reducing the force of clenching and grinding. This relieves pain, protects the teeth, and reduces associated headaches. Over time, with repeat treatments, the masseter can also reduce in size, subtly refining the jawline.
At Radiant Health Clinic, this treatment is performed by Advanced Nurse Practitioners with full medical training. A consultation is required before treatment to assess your symptoms and confirm suitability.

Common questions
Common questions
How quickly will I feel relief?
Most patients notice a reduction in jaw tension within 1–2 weeks. Full results are visible at 4–6 weeks.
Will it change the appearance of my face?
With repeat treatments, progressive reduction in masseter bulk can subtly slim and soften the jawline, a change many patients welcome as an additional benefit.
Does it hurt?
The injections are administered into a large muscle and are generally well-tolerated.
How long do results last?
Results typically last 4–6 months. With regular treatment many patients find results last progressively longer.
Will I still be able to eat normally?
Yes. Avoid very hard or chewy foods for 24 hours, then normal eating resumes.
